Institutional Repositories and Open Access: Why and how to submit your work to SCW @ Digital UNC

Institutional Repositories and Open Access: Why and how to submit your work to SCW @ Digital UNC In-Person

Photo of Michener 303Celebrate Open Access Week by attending this interactive workshop for faculty and graduate students. Attendees will receive an overview of UNC’s institutional repository, Scholarship & Creative Works @ Digital UNC, learn how it differs from commercial alternatives like ResearchGate and Academia.edu, and understand how it can help them expand the global reach of their research, scholarship, and creative works. The session will also provide information about open access publishing and how institutional repositories fit into the movement to promote greater openness in academia. Participants will learn about copyright issues related to online sharing and have the opportunity to upload their work into the repository.

The presenter will be Jane Monson, Assistant Professor / Digital Initiatives Librarian.

This session is the second in our six-part Researcher Workshop Series for 2018-2019. Other workshops will take place on November 15 (showcasing the impact of your work), and in Spring 2019 (dates TBD). We hope to see you at future workshops!
